Walpurgisnacht Songtext / Lyrics

German:
In den Abendhimmel steigen
Heute Nacht die Zauberweisen
Wildes Volk und Liliths Art
Lauernd Winde heimlich fahrt
(Hey yo)
Die Feuer sind entfacht!
(Hey yo)
Folgt dem Reigen, folgt dem Reigen
In der Walpurgisnacht
Hört die Geigen, hört die Geigen
(Hey yo)
Die Feuer sind entfacht!
(Hey yo)
Folgt dem Reigen, folgt dem Reigen
In der Walpurgisnacht

English:
Soar into the evening sky
The magic ways tonight
Wild people and Lilith’s art
Lurking winds drive secretly
Let’s roam to the fires
Reaching for the stars in a whisper
Good and bad word
Let’s carry on and on today
Our dreams will sound in the pastures
And the winds will sing our songs
Let’s jump over the fire with the sparks
On the Walpurgis Night!
Hear the violins, hear the violins
(Hey yo)
The fires are lit!
(Hey yo)
Follow the dance, follow the dance
On the Walpurgis night
Fierce in the violin game
Our nightly ’round dance
And we kick wild and free
This old magic
Once only in a large circle
Let’s dance that way
Until the first morning light
Our dream tissue breaks
Our dreams will sound in the pastures
And the winds will sing our songs
Let’s jump over the fire with the sparks
On the Walpurgis Night!
Hear the violins, hear the violins
(Hey yo)
The fires are lit!
(Hey yo)
Follow the dance, follow the dance
On the Walpurgis night
Hear the violins, hear the violins
(Hey yo)
The fires are lit!
(Hey yo)
Follow the dance, follow the dance
On the Walpurgis night

Most liked comments about the video

Not going to lie, this party looks more fun than 90% of the parties I went to in college.

Everything about this is beautiful. The paganism, the german language, the powerful singing, the harmonies, the drums, the elements, the dancing .. my soul is on fire 🔥🔥🔥 thank you Faun

“when the autumn fairies sing to prepare for winter, their song can only be heard by a true believer”

Honestly I think German is one of the most beautiful languages, it just sounds so fantastical and ethereal, almost like I’m living in a fairly tale or something, but not like the Disney ones like the original fairy tales or I feel like a badass vigilante fighting crime when it’s more aggressive

I love the fact that you incorporated a knot tying ceremony into this video. Its refreshing to know that the old ways haven’t been forgotten. Much love and blessed be to all of you.

Going to have a walpurgistnacht fire like this with all my pagan friends this year. Definitely listening to this.

Видос появился 6 лет назад, и только сейчас появился в рекомендациях… Просто шедевр с крутым звучанием на немецком, сказать что я охренел, это ничего не сказать:) Привет из России, с уважением!

For those of you who do not know…this is a sacred rite of the great marriage. Whether it is called Beltaine, Walpurgisnacht, or May Day. It is a sacred ritual.

This song transports me to another magical world. I have not proper words to describe the emotion coming with it. Wishing you guys the best success ever ! I don’t even need to understand German to feel the connection 🤗

Прекрасное музыка, уже несколько раз прослушала

I’m from Germany and I am stunned – judging on the comments here – how many people from other countries listen to FAUN.
Hello to you all! You have a great taste in music 🙂

Pagan folk music is awesome love you guys.

I lost someone recently. His memorial was on Walpurgisnacht this year. We are Americans, so this holiday doesn’t really exist out here. I learned about this holiday because of this song only a year ago. So, May Day / Walpurgisnacht / Beltane became a very grief-filled time this year for me. However, this song and other songs by Faun and few other artists have been very therapeutic for me to listen to. I am not religious, but I started lighting devotional candles, and wearing a cartouche of Anubis. I feel like my friend isn’t truly gone if I have music and tokens of his existence. Rest in peace, Austin. Whatever is out there after this life, if anything at all, I hope you’re doing your best.

the German language is so often associated with harshness and aggression, thank you for showing us that it can also sound very beautiful! i love this song 🙂

I loved how the video shows the old tradition of the bonds of wedlock! My wife is Filipina, from the Higaonon tribe in Bukidnon, Mindanao. She has been trained as a “baylan”, a tribal shaman, healer, massage provider, and midwife. When we married, a white rope was placed around the shoulders of both of us to symbolize the bonds of marriage.
